One of the biggest areas that we struggle with in our budget, like a lot of people we know, is our grocery and eating out categories. It seems that no matter what we do we always end up short!
We have tried so many strategies to try to combat the overspending habit, but nothing has seemed to pull us out of this spending rut. We’ve tried cash envelopes, Jared doing the grocery shopping, shopping at different stores for different items, shopping sale items, etc. But nothing has stuck or gotten our grocery budget to come down!
Yesterday I was headed to Target (surprise, surprise!) to get Jared’s protein powder and a thought dawned on me:
“Why the heck am I not using Amazon or an online retailer to subscribe to things we use on the reg!?”
We already use Amazon Subscribe & Save for some things
I use Amazon Subscribe & Save for Morgan’s diapers and wipes and it saves us a TON, and also saves me from having to go out and get it!
So when I got home, I started researching where the best place was to buy his protein and up came Amazon. I tried Thrive Market and Vitacost too (they are better for pricingĀ on some items, just not on this!). I then realized that when you have 5 or more items on the same subscription date, you get an additional 15% off!! ThatĀ got me thinking.
What else could I subscribe to that would allow me to:
1) Save Money
2) Save me the trip out to get the item(s)
3) Save me from forgetting the item(s) that we always seem to run out of (i.e. Toilet paper)
I’ve come up with a few things to subscribe to but I thought, if I am doing this, I’m sure others are wondering about this or have done it themselves!
So, do you use Amazon Subscribe & Save?
And if you do, what do you Subscribe & Save to?
