We were absolutely doomed based on the text from the day before. It was only a matter of time…but c’mon, Day 4?
I only partially place the blame on Laiken for our eating out failure. She sent the text that got me thinking about beef bulgogi and then we both had a really hectic day.
My son ended up rollin’ to the office with me where I kept him occupied playing miniature golf and playing on the various Apple devices we have laying around.
Laiken headed to a doctor’s appointment and then spent an hour-and-a-half stuck in traffic with a newborn screaming her head off in the back seat.
Our internet has been jacked so Cox Communications sent a tech out to see what was up. I told the tech I basically needed to be able to work, while streaming Netflix and possibly refreshing twitter. New lines and a new modem need to happen!
By the time all of that was done it was bath time for the kids and put them to sleep.
Fried Chicken Basket or Something Healthier?
It was decided that we would definitely have to pick something up if we wanted to eat dinner. We haven’t been to the store and all of the leftovers have been eaten.
Laiken or my sister-in-law suggested a place called Stewby’s. It’s a local favorite and a place that my entire family loves to eat at. It’s also full of fried everything! (Although you can get grilled or blackened, but why?)
I seriously did not want Stewby’s and thought of the freakin’ yummy beef bulgogi. We had to roll to a different restaurant since my fav doesn’t serve it for dinner, but nonetheless, beef bulgogi was had!
It’s A Fail…But Is It?
I’m supposed to checkin with our Crossfit Coach Sara twice a week until we start going back to give her updates on our eating. I messaged her this morning and told her of the tragedy…
She was gracious enough to reply,
That’s not a fail!! You went out and made a healthy choice! That’s a success
She’s right, actually! In a way, that was a huge success for me. Laiken is much better at making healthier menu choices than I am. If I go out, I’m eating whatever the hell I want!
So for me to say no to a fried chicken basket and want a “healthier” beef bulgogi, that’s a step in the right direction.
We failed after almost finishing Day 4, but that damn bulgogi was on point!
