This post is going up SUPER late.
Today started out with Morgan waking up with a fever that came out of no where and with no other symptoms. She has been quite cranky over the last few days, so I am hoping it’s just teething, but a little bit of me suspects it’s her ears. We have been using our essential oils all day and made sure she got her probiotics in to help support her immune system. We are hoping that she sleeps well tonight and that the fever breaks on its own! Whatever is going on made her quite clingy and puny today, so I’m praying she gets back to her spunky self tomorrow!
Then, we were suspecting to get hit pretty hard throughout the day with severe thunderstorms, so we kept Cooper home from preschool, just in case. The storm was coming from the west and had produced some nasty tornados on its way and since I’m at home, it is convenient for me to just let him play hooky on days like today. Plus, I really didn’t want to have to get Morgan out in the middle of the storm to go pick him up.
So between a crazy 4 year old boy that is ALL BOY and a clingy, almost one year old that didn’t feel good, my only job today was to be Mommy!
And as much as I really wanted to get this post done earlier (even ahead of time, but hey, progress is progress, right?!) I just couldn’t today. So here I am, at 9 pm on Monday night, getting it done! ??
Tonight’s meal is the example of the fact that:
- I should really get more on top of meal prep again
- Give myself grace when we don’t eat perfectly clean/paleo/healthy
As much as I wish I could be on our “perfect us plan” at all times, right now its just not reality.
With two crazy kiddos, even with meal prepping, we are going to have days where it just doesn’t happen. And even if it does, I want sushi dammit! ?
So friends, yes, give yourself a pat on the back for trying to eat healthy, whatever that may look like. But give yourself grace for the days that you just need convenience and a glass of wine! ??
Because ain’t nobody perfect and that’s OKAY!
Here’s this week’s Menu Plan Monday:

Wednesday: Burgers! With bacon, sautéed onions, lettuce and more, with country potatoes (didn’t end up getting to fix this last week, so I’m looking forward to it!)
